Podcast Feed

What is a podcast?   A podcast is a combination of a broadcaster (feed), in this case RPC, and a receiver -- in this case your computer. Once set up, your computer, will automatically download the weekly sermons from RPC. Taken one stop further, these downloads can then be downloaded to your MP3 player, such as the iPod, hence the name, podcast. But most people listen to it on their computer.

What do I need to receive a podcast?   You need special software. iTunes is available for Apple Macintosh and Microsoft Windows and Juice is available for Mac, Windows, Linux and FreeBSD.

RSS Feed

What is RSS?   It stands for Really Simple Syndication and is a method for publishing notifications of new web-based articles or blogs. RPC uses it to publish new updates to it's What's Happening section on it's home page.

What do I need to receive an RSS feed?   Some browsers such as Internet Explorer 7, Firefox 2 and Opera 9 allow you to receive feeds directly. However earlier versions of Internet Explorer, Firefox and Opera do not. Bloglines is web-based software that allows you to manage and read all your feeds from most browsers, and also allows you to read your feeds from a BlackBerry.
